About this guide

I haven't played Kaohsiung's courts myself — this page started from English-language research and has since been cross-checked against Chinese-language sources and live LINE community activity, which told a very different and much bigger story than the English web does. Treat the courts and groups below as leads to verify, not settled facts — schedules and organizers shift, and the paid vs. free, formal vs. drop-in distinctions matter more here than English-language sources capture.

    The TIP Facebook group is the fastest way to get a Kaohsiung introduction. Mention your dates — someone local will respond.

    Search LINE's own Community directory directly
    直接用 LINE 的「社群」搜尋找

    The single biggest, most active Kaohsiung pickleball hub found in research was a LINE community with 1,200+ members, updating multiple times an hour — far larger than anything visible on Facebook or the open web. Search "Kaohsiung" + 匹克球 inside LINE's Community search (not a web search engine) to find it. Posts are in Chinese, so a translation app is essential if you don't read it.

    Kaohsiung is more local than Taipei

    Fewer expats and travelers play here. The community is Taiwanese-first but genuinely warm. A few words of Mandarin go a long way.

    Use the city's MRT

    Kaohsiung has a clean, easy metro system. Most sports centers and parks are accessible from it.

Kaohsiung flies under the radar for most pickleball travelers, but the scene here is real and expanding fast. Courts cluster near the Love River and the Zuoying MRT corridor, and the crowd is almost entirely local Taiwanese players. If Taipei feels like the polished front door, Kaohsiung is the living room.

大多數來台灣打匹克球的人不會特別想到高雄，但這裡的球圈是真的存在，而且長得很快。球場多集中在愛河一帶和左營捷運沿線，球友幾乎全是在地台灣人。如果說台北是打理得體面的大門，高雄就是自家客廳。

Most sessions are outdoors on converted courts near parks and community sports facilities. The level ranges from beginner-friendly open play to some surprisingly sharp 3.5–4.0 regulars who take the game seriously. Cost is low, drop-in culture is strong, and the welcome is warm — even if you’ll need a bit more patience on language than in Taipei.

大部分場次都在戶外，多半是公園或社區運動場地劃線改成的球場。程度從新手也能加入的開放練習，到一些打得很認真、意外地強的3.5到4.0分常客都有。費用低、隨到隨打的風氣很強、人也熱情，只是語言上會比在台北需要多一點耐心。

The feel of the scene.這裡的氛圍。

Kaohsiung pickleball runs on neighborhood energy. Sessions are organized through Line groups and word-of-mouth rather than polished apps or formal clubs. Regulars tend to be working professionals and retirees from the local Chinese-Taiwanese community. English is more limited than Taipei, but universal gestures — pointing to the court, holding up your paddle — get you into a game fast. There’s a lot of laughing here. Worth watching, not banking on: as of September 2026 a Kaohsiung mayoral candidate has proposed a citywide policy to convert idle badminton and tennis courts into pickleball space and inventory malls, parks, and MRT stations for new all-weather courts. It's a campaign promise, not funded or approved policy — a signal of where interest is heading, not something to plan a trip around.

高雄的匹克球靠的是街坊鄰居那種能量。場次多半是LINE群組和口耳相傳約出來的，不是什麼精美的App或正式的俱樂部。常客大多是在地的上班族和退休族。英文比台北更不通，但比手畫腳就夠用了：指一下球場、舉一下球拍，很快就能上場。這裡笑聲很多。值得留意但先別當真：截至2026年9月，一位高雄市長候選人提出將閒置羽球場、網球場改建為匹克球場地的政見，並盤點商場、公園、捷運站等空間增建全天候球場。這仍只是競選政見，尚未獲得市府核定或編列預算，可視為這項運動在高雄受關注程度的訊號，但還不是能據此規劃行程的事實。
