Johor Bahru mempunyai lebih 12 gelanggang pickleball bertujuan-bina, dengan komuniti yang berkembang pesat dan pemain dari Singapura.
Malaysia's fastest-growing pickleball city — purpose-built venues, Singapore day-trippers crossing the Causeway, and a scene that has expanded faster than most cities in the region.

The author's take
"JB is still developing its social layer — the community is younger and newer than KL or Penang. But the infrastructure is already there, and it's worth a visit if you're passing through or based in Singapore."
Johor Bahru is what happens when a city builds for pickleball instead of adapting around it. The venues here are purpose-built — large indoor facilities with tournament-grade courts, proper amenities, and the kind of scale that most cities in Asia haven't reached yet. Add the cross-border Singapore crowd arriving via the Causeway and you have a scene with unusual energy: local Malaysian players alongside Singaporean expats and day-trippers who can't justify the cost of courts back home.
The geographic advantage is real. Singapore's courts are expensive and scarce. JB is 30 minutes away and costs a quarter of the price. Singaporean players have been crossing the border for sessions since 2023, and that cross-border flow has accelerated the scene's development significantly — venues have invested in quality because they know the audience.
JB is still developing its social layer — the community is younger and newer than KL or Penang. But the infrastructure is already there, and it's worth a visit if you're passing through or based in Singapore.
For a first-timer
How to join a game.
01
Book via Reclub or Courtsite
Most JB sessions run through Reclub (free iOS/Android app) or Courtsite (courtsite.my). Set your location to Johor Bahru and filter by date and level. Weekend sessions fill fast — book a day ahead.
02
Start with D Pickle Zone or KICKS
D Pickle Zone is JB's largest venue and the easiest entry point. KICKS is the better choice if you want competition-standard courts and a more serious game.
03
If you're coming from Singapore, time it right
The Causeway gets congested — especially Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. The Second Link (Tuas) is less busy for car travel. Build in 45–60 minutes crossing time on weekends.
04
Ask in the JB Pickleball Facebook group
The community is active on Facebook. Post your dates and level and someone will point you to the right session.

"Neighbourhood indoor club — regular community sessions, good for meeting locals"

JB pickleball culture is still forming. The venues are ahead of the community — you'll find excellent courts but the organised social scene is less developed than in KL or Penang. Sessions are well-attended, especially on weekends when Singaporean day-trippers arrive, and the mix of nationalities gives the courts an interesting energy. The scene is young enough that newcomers are genuinely welcomed rather than sized up.
