You’ve landed, your luggage is at the hotel, and you have a paddle in your bag and three hours before dinner.
Here’s how to find a game.
Step 1: Check the Facebook group first
Every city has one. Search “[City name] pickleball” in Facebook — the group with the most members is the right one. Post: “Visiting [City] this week, 3.5 player, looking to join open play. Any sessions tonight or tomorrow?” You’ll get a reply within hours.
Step 2: Check the open-play listing on this site
The city guides list specific sessions with times, addresses, and a contact. The Da’an Park session in Taipei, the Lumpini Park session in Bangkok — these are confirmed and updated.
Step 3: Show up early
For drop-in sessions, arrive 10–15 minutes before the posted time. Introduce yourself to the first person you see. Say your level. Ask “Is this okay to join?” The answer is almost always yes.
Step 4: Play the local rules
Every scene has micro-customs. In Taiwan, you rotate after 11. In Bangkok, you bring your own balls and pay NT$100 into a hat. Ask; don’t assume.
